Mark Zuckerberg Criticizes Apple for Lack of Innovation and Restrictive Policies

In a recent episode of the widely popular Joe Rogan Podcast, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg voiced strong criticism against Apple, the tech giant often hailed as a pioneer in innovation. He accused Apple of relying heavily on the iPhone’s success for over two decades without introducing groundbreaking innovations since its launch.

While acknowledging that the iPhone remains one of the most important inventions of all time, Zuckerberg argued that Apple has not delivered anything equally transformative since the days of Steve Jobs. According to him, Apple’s progress has been slow, with the company relying on past successes rather than pushing the boundaries of technology.
The Meta CEO also took issue with Apple’s business practices, particularly its approach to third-party developers. He criticized Apple’s 30% commission fee on app transactions, calling it a burden on developers. He believes this restrictive policy, coupled with limited flexibility for third-party plugins, is causing a decline in iPhone sales.

Zuckerberg highlighted how Apple has locked its ecosystem, making it difficult for devices to interact seamlessly. He pointed out that while Apple’s AirPods are a remarkable product, the company’s approach to limiting integration with other gadgets poses a significant challenge. For instance, Meta’s Ray-Ban Smart Glasses face compatibility issues with iPhones, reducing user convenience.

This criticism is the latest chapter in the ongoing rivalry between Meta and Apple. The two tech titans have clashed over several issues in recent years, from privacy policies to their vision for the metaverse. Zuckerberg’s remarks reflect the growing tension as both companies compete for dominance in the tech world.

Apple’s policies and its innovation slowdown are now under greater scrutiny as competitors like Meta push forward with their vision for the future. Whether Apple will address these concerns or continue with its current strategy remains to be seen.
